-- Restoring "Single Track" to the Rooty Trail --

October 16th, 2010 - Trail Maintenance

The section of the Yellow Trail that parallels the old lake bed (a.k.a. The Serengeti) is full of roots and fun to ride. It has gotten ridiculously wide at a few spots and, in the spring, many of the braids and widened barren swaths turn into a muddy mess. Although the trail is armored fairly well, should be narrowed as illustrated in the rollover.

Root Trail Wetness

On October 16th, 2010 the TTC crew added deadfall, leaves and a few choke stones dug in here and there to return the trail to a narrow flowing single track. Some of the armoring needs to be beefed up in the future but the spots that get real muddy are now eradicated.
