-- South End Stream Crossing --

May 15th, 2010 - Trail Maintenance

Coming in from Daneils Farm / Park Road, this stream had always been in need of better armoring. A few large flat rocks strategically placed could make the crossing passable for bikers and hikers and still allow the current to flow.

Although there were only four of us on this session, we got a lot done. Fellow Trail Ambassadors Dave Francefort and Rich Stinch and myself (Rich Coffey) were joined by Alex B a local rider.

Rearmoring South End Stream Crossing
Our first project was to build up the rock-armored stream crossing. We made quick of this task as flat rocks were easy to find right nearby. Jose another biker passing by joined us, graciously chipping in by helping us find rocks and building up the armored crossing. He was the first to inaugurate it - it's now a breeze to traverse this stream!
