In the Midsummer of 2010, I snapped a few photos of the ever-increaoing number of firepits throughout the park. A hiker I had met the week before pointed this out to me. Not only are there a prolifreation of (sometimes still smoldering) firepits throughout the park, perfectly healthy trees are being axed nearby! It's very disheartening to see this kind of wanton destruction in the park. I meet some bikers at this time who said it was local teenagers who party in the park almost every night. It seems senseless and can only lead to trouble for everyone who goes there... By the river on the Blue Trail (south of the North Bridge) I took a few photos..
At the Slab Rock Clearing I snapped a few more photos of the destruction and stitched an infographic together to illustrate the ugliness. Things really seem to be going downhill in our society when Rampage parties in the woods result in this kind of carnage. Residents of Trumbull need to get the word out that this has gotta stop before the whole park burns down in flames... _________ |
